Notice: Changes to the Town's Battery Recycling Program

The Town's current battery recycling provider will be discontinuing its municipal program at the end of 2025, and collection bins will be removed from all Town facilities.

The Town is exploring opportunities for a new battery collection program, with more details to be shared in January 2026. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to continue safely disposing of used household batteries. Many alternative locations throughout the community accept batteries free of charge (please see the list below).

Recycling batteries is very important as batteries contain various heavy metals such as nickel, zinc, lead, mercury, lithium, cobalt, and cadmium. Recycling allows materials to be recovered, reused, and disposed of properly, keeping these hazardous materials out of landfill.
